Closing the Loop

A problem with the faculty evaluation process—from a student’s point of view—is that they can not see the impact the evaluation had on the faculty member. Although they are part of the process, they cannot know how seriously members of the faculty take their feedback.

Today, I completed the loop by sending the students I taught during the 2006-2007 academic year the following message:

Because I was being evaluated during the 2006-2007 academic year, you were asked to complete a student evaluation form. The packet I completed for the evaluation as well as the results of the administrator, colleague, and student evaluations are now available on-line. If you are interested, you may access them at https://www.stevenlberg.info/blog/06-17-2007b.html.

If you have any additional feedback or responses to the material I have posted on my teaching web site—whether it concerns the evaluations or not—please do not hesitate to contact me.

I do not know how many students will take the time to read any of my evaluations materials. However, I have given them the opportunity.
