It was estimated that there were 3,155 union soldiers killed, 14,531 wounded, and 5,369 captured or missing. For the confederates, the numbers were a little bit higher 4,708 killed, 12,693 wounded, and 5,830 captured or missing. This was a lot for a three day battle.

Just four and a half months after the union army defeated the confederate army, Abraham Lincoln gave the Gettysburg address. It is one of the best-known speeches in American history and changed the way people lived.
