September 5: The Identical Released
On 5 September 2014, The Identical was released.
The story of The Identical is similar to the story of the famous singer Elvis Presley, but the movie is not about Elvis at all. It is about the twin brothers Ryan Wade and Drexel Hemsley who were separated at birth. The film begins with a young, poor, and newly married couple giving birth to twin boys in a small cabin. Their joy was quickly ruined after they realized they would not be able to provide their kids the normal and happy life which they deserve, because of the poverty that haunted many families during the Great Depression.
The parents then realized they should at least give up on one of their babies. The parents gave their baby, Ryan Wade, to be raised by a minister and his wife (Brian Geraghty and Amanda Crew). Later, Ryan Wade reaches full maturity thanks to his father, Brian Geraghty, who truly believed that Ryan should be like him, a minister. Ryan struggled to balance his love for music and his need to please his parents. While Drexel Hemsley, his twin brother, on the other hand, became a famous rock and roll singer.
One day, the twin’s destinies collide. Ryan discovered that Drexel was his identical-twin brother which led Ryan to question everything he ever believed about family, love, his own identity, and God.
